August 4, 200520 yr This won't be a Mets-catching forum. I promise. But I don't know anyone who thinks Ramon Castro can be an every-day catcher. Hernandez, on the other hand, was leading all NL catchers in RBIs when he got hurt in June, and he's tremendous in working with pitchers and calling games. He and A.J. Pierzynski will be the two hottest catching commodities on the free-agent shelves this winter. this was from his chat today. We all know A.J. isn't a free agent, but arbitration eligible. Mr. Stark needs to do his research.

August 4, 200520 yr it was a chat question, not a lot of time to do such. just saying that we might make a boatload of mistakes if we answered paragraphs on the spot
August 5, 200520 yr I would tend to agree, except that baseball is his job. He's paid to do research on players and write and speak about them. Most of us only follow baseball as a hobby, its more than that for him. Everyone is human and will make mistakes I understand, but throwing tidbits like that out there without obviously knowing it for a fact is a bit odd.
