August 23, 200520 yr Rodman agrees to play game in Finland Associated Press 8/23/2005 11:56:53 AM HELSINKI (AP) - Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has signed to play one match for a basketball team in the Finnish league in November. Rodman, 44, who stopped playing in the NBA five years ago, will turn out for Torpan Pojat, or ToPo, on Nov. 6 at Helsinki's 9,000-capacity Ice Hall, most probably against Honka. ToPo manager Aleksi Valavuori said the contract requires that Rodman plays 15 minutes during the match. The value of the deal was not disclosed. "We expect the venue to be sold out that night," Valavuori said. "This will be good for Finnish basketball." Edited August 23, 200520 yr by Ozzie Montana
August 23, 200520 yr I'd like to one day see a game of Pesapallo, the Finnish version of baseball. It was popularized by the government in order to teach young Finns how to throw a gernade, so the ball is pitched like a gernade. Also, home plate is round, and a ball that goes out of the park is an out.
