Buehrle

He's obviously not pitching as well as he's capable of, but his ERA is a fairly respectable 3.86.

Last year it was 3.58 -- not MUCH lower than it is so far in '03 -- and he won 19 games.

I think we may need to realize that this team is simply not as good as last year's team -- a team that struggled to play a .500 season.

Yeah i had originally said 85 wins. I am going to stick with that for NOW, but i may have to adjust it if they dont get rid of JM, KW, or both very soon.

Well, 85 wins would be an 85-77 season. At this point, 8 over .500 is a LONG ways away.

If Buehrle got half the run support that he had gotten the previous season and one-half, he'd probably be 6-2..... at worst..... 5-3.

Well that's pretty much my point. He's pitching pretty much the same, but our offense has just sucked. And, he allowed 7 UN-earned runs last season. Already in '03, he's allowed 6. With the way we're scoring runs, those 6 runs have probably cost him 2 games.

For the 10,000th time, it's time for this team to wake the f*** up.

Not a good statistic...

2001 -- 1.07 WHIP (221 1/3, 188 hits, 48 walks)

2002 -- 1.24 WHIP (239, 236 hits, 61 walks)

2003 -- 1.44 WHIP (58 1/3, 63 hits, 21 walks)

A baserunner and a half per inning is going to catch up to him very very soon. Look for his ERA to be around 4.50 at season's end if he doesn't turn it around.

Sirotka was a lot like that. Buehrle is way better then Siro though. I think with Buehrle its mainly at times he seems to lose a bit of concentration.

Still, I don't mess with his numbers and I love having him on the mound. 2-6, he should be 6-2 or so.

The fact that he has 6 UER allowed this year compared to 7 all of last year tells you that there are too many innings that we are giving up extra outs, which translates to extra batters faced, which will lead to more baserunners per inning. Add to the fact that MB knows he has to pitch lights out to win a game, because we aren't hitting, he is therefore trying to be too perfect. He can't, or hasn't acheived the ability yet, to just relax and pitch his game and let what ever happens on offense happen.

He's not helping my fantasy team!
