October 1, 200520 yr Mark McGwire was at Busch to remove the number 3 off the "remaining games" sign, and there were a few boos when he was announced. They interviewed him after the game, and he was as evasive as ever. "What I said at the hearing is my statement, and that's the last I'm going to say about it. I'm a positive person, we need to move on".....blah blah blah. Thing is, he didn't say anything at the hearing. What a huge disappointment he turned out to be. Oh, and he did the Barry Bonds "carry the kid as a sympathy shield" thing.
October 1, 200520 yr I lost all respect I had for McGwire back at those hearings. What he did was worse than saying he did or didn't use.
October 1, 200520 yr He dug himself a deep hole during that hearing. You don't see Schilling getting booed for saying he didn't use steroids, or Sosa. Well Sosa gets booed because he sucks and Palmeiro is now a liar. McGwire still did the worst job in that hearing and that will forever taint his legacy.
