October 2, 200520 yr The White Sox were 35 or 40 to 1 to win the World Series at the beginning of the year. I put down a little bit of money after the first month of the season and got in at 16 to 1. Hope it works out! Also the odds don't always have to do with the real chances of a team to win. The odds are strategically designed to take into account popular bets. The Yankees and Red Sox are popular bets and the odds reflect that.

October 2, 200520 yr I got the White Sox +130 to win over 82 games, 9/1 to win the Central and 55/1 to win the WS, all during spring training. I put $100 on each.
