Steve Dahl's column

Featured Replies

Many of you might know that Steve Dahl has been doing a diary/column for the playoffs in the Trib. Here are a couple of gems from today's write up.

Why is Jay Mariotti telling Sox fans to stop the Cubs-fan hating and just enjoy the ALCS? We should just relish the fact that the Sox are in it. Does he think we can't enjoy it and still razz Cubs fans? What does Mariotti know about enjoying anything anyway? As far as I can tell, the guy has never had one constructive or happy thing to say.

After this weekend, you will be sick of seeing the Rally Monkey out in Anaheim. Since U.S. Cellular Field is so close to the remaining Chicago Stockyards, couldn't we try and put together some sort of Rally Monkey Demolition using a few of our better meat-packers? We could substitute goat, so it's legal and also a dig at Cubs fans. Sorry, Jay.

When Mayor Daley bets mayors of other cities for sporting events, why doesn't he bet for stuff we really need, like police cars, traffic lights, or maybe an ambulance? How about dump trucks we won't have to lease? And why are we sending Mexican food to Southern Californians? They already have all they need.
