I'm not sure how it came up but me and my dad were trying to think if anyone has every had more rbi then hits in a season with a large amount of at bats... say 400 or more.

 

The closest I could find so far was in 1999 Manny Ramirez came within 9

with 174 hits and 165 rbi. just wondering if anyone could think of anyone who actually accomplished this or came close.

My two guesses were Juan Gone and Hack Wilson. Neither did it. Big Mac did in 99 though by 2. Darn near did it the year before too. Not sure of any others

My 1st thought was obviously Hack Wilson. Although he had 208 hits in that awesome 1930 season.

Punch beat me to it. Mark McGwire accomplished this feat in 1999 with 145 H and 147 RBI in 521 AB.

For what it's worth, my first guess was Dave Kingman.
