October 24, 200520 yr Hawkeyes on Taylor & Laflin GREAT bar, it's absolutely packed with soxfans to the point where last night they had to turn people away. Everyone was all decked out in thier gear and was completely into the game. It was the best bar game watching experince I've had yet. And they had cheap drinks and it's a really nice place with alot of plasma's in every direction. I'll be there weds night for sure.
October 24, 200520 yr Thx for the tip, I'll need a bar for the 3 road games. I haven't been impressed by the ones near the Cell.
October 24, 200520 yr Author I am telling you, I go in there on a regular basis cause this is my neighborhood and I see alot of sox gear cause this is the southside but, wow this place was awesome. we all had a great time. Lots of beautiful girls and the staff are all extremely cute all decked out in soxgear and the place was packed to the brim.
October 24, 200520 yr Cork and Kerry down by my old neighborhood was a good place to see the game yesterday, after we got skunked liiking for tix at the Cell. And They're going to have Nancy Faust set up and playing out in the beer garden for one and maybe two of the away games. They did it for one of the Anaheim games and A bunch of people I talked to said it was a great time.
October 25, 200520 yr Someone just told me that Wayne Messmer was shot outside of Hawkeye's a few years back? I remember the incident, did it happen there?
October 25, 200520 yr I went to Hawkeyes once or twice when I attended UIC. Wasn't all that impressed with it, then again, I am not a bar type so that might be the reason.
October 25, 200520 yr Hawkeye's really is an awesome place. I, too, recommed the joint. EDIT: Smoking hot bartenders as well. Edited October 25, 200520 yr by AddisonStSox
October 25, 200520 yr Author My area is becoming absolutely beautiful. Their goal is for it to become the Lincoln park on the southside.
October 25, 200520 yr Author PS. with a win tonight I'll be in Hawkeyes weds night looking to tie one on I'm trying to be optimistic about Oswolt
October 25, 200520 yr Someone just told me that Wayne Messmer was shot outside of Hawkeye's a few years back? I remember the incident, did it happen there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, it was actually in or near the parking lot for Hawkeye's, the lot is (or was) about a block south of Taylor Street. Hawkeye's is a good place for just about any sporting event, especially if you're aged 21 to about 30 or so.

Edited October 25, 200520 yr by AddisonStSox
October 25, 200520 yr Author that gated lving isn't occupied anylonger. it's fenced off and being torn down for stores and condos
October 26, 200520 yr I've been watching the games at home with friends, but if this is the game, I want to be in a packed bar. I live in the South Loop (Printers Row).... anyone else going out for Game 4 tonight in the near south side?
October 26, 200520 yr Hawkeyes? What time does it start getting packed? I've got some stuff I've got to do this afternoon, but I don't want to not be able to get in...
October 26, 200520 yr Author I'd say show up around 6? It's a badass place to catch the game and with sox fans not "fans"
