Matthew Limon freed from Kansas prison

Featured Replies

After spending five years in prison, Matthew Limon was released Thursday following the Oct. 21 Kansas Supreme Court ruling that determined it was unconstitutional to punish underage sex between homosexuals more harshly than between heterosexuals.

Both teenagers involved were living in a group home for the mentally disabled. The sex was judged consensual, the younger boy receiving oral sex from the older. Under Kansas law, had these teens been of opposite sex, the maximum sentence would have been 15 months. In this case, the older teen was sentenced to more than 17 YEARS in prison.

Still, given the moral values of many in the region, some Kansas papers reported this story along the lines of “Judge Releases Sex Offender" and "man sodomizes boy."

They should have had their thumbs cut off, we need to get tough on crime and then kids won't do stuff like this. We need to raise the punishment to match, not lower the other one. Fill them prisons and then start killing the worse offenders.
