Draft and Follow

Featured Replies

Appears Sox did not sign any of the half dozen or so draft and follows we had available. Not a good sign going into the draft, assuming we are going very cheap this year. At least 2 of the draft and follows were among the top 100 Junior College players eligible for this draft.

Any chance of gettting details? I assume these were all high school players that wanted big bucks to sit in A ball for three years. Uncle Jerry blew his wad on Borchard. This is all about the spending a $1 when you only have $.50 and why we will never be a serious contendor.

Who were the two players in the top 100. Did we even try?

Tony Sipp, last years 33rd rounder, a LHP and OF did not sign and went to Mississippi Gulf Coast JC and is the 24th rated JC player in this years draft. He was only one of ours in top 50.

Others eligible.

C Paul Keck, 19th rounder went to Sacramento, Cal JC

LHP Boone Logan, last years 20th rounder, went to Temple, Tex JC

LHP David Beasley, last years 23rd rounder, went to Broward, Fl JC

LHP Jay Marshall, last years 25th rounder, went to Jefferson, Mo JC and was one we wanted and compared to Buehrle, who happened to go to same JC.
