Pacheco/Parrish

Featured Replies

The Denver papers, which cover the Rockies in minute detail, made comments recently about Pacheco and Wade Parrish.

Re: Pacheco, the article was summarizing all of Dan Dowd's trades, most of which were bad. In the Sandy Alomar/Pacheco trade last July, the paper said that the Rockies gave up too much, because Pacheco had one of the best arms in the organization, even though Sandy played well in his half season in Denver.

Then, more recently, they commented on the Parrish/Gload trade. They recently converted Parrish from reliever to starter, where he has done very well in AA. They now consider him a genuine pitching prospect.

I must be having a slow day.

Parrish is very old and was in AAA last year (I think he was at least, maybe I'm wrong, and I'm too lazy to check).

Either way he isn't a prospect in my mind. I think he was starting last year for the Sox system. I'm trying to remember how we got him and it was either the Dodgers or more likely from the Rangers.

Parrish did start in AA and AAA for us, did ok. nothing to write home about. Both he and Gload are AAA players, Parrish could make it since LHs mature late. Not a loss.
