beck72
Interesting that Ryan Sweeney has been playing a lot of LF for the sox this spring. He's only played 2 games in RF and four in LF. I know some of that is Jerry Owens has been playing CF. But Sweeney has always been mentioned as the heir apparent to Dye in RF. My take is the sox want to get a look at his defense in both Rf and LF. In case of an injury to Anderson or really tanks, maybe Pods could move to CF and Sweeney could go to Lf. I'd be interested in hearing from people who have seen him play LF [or RF for that matter] to comment on his defense.
Drew
QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:21 AM) maybe Pods could move to CF God, I hope not.
beck72
QUOTE(Drew @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) God, I hope not. Not ideal. But you have to think of a back up plan in case of an injury. Owens may not be better than Pods in CF.
DBAHO
QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Not ideal. But you have to think of a back up plan in case of an injury. Owens may not be better than Pods in CF. That would be Rob Mackowiak.
YASNY
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 06:29 AM) That would be Rob Mackowiak. That would probably not be the plan for a long term injury. Two weeks or more, we call up one of the kids and they play most of the time which leaves Mack in his role as supersub. At least, that would be my guess.
