Public funds for new stadiums (stadii?)

Featured Replies

We all know the Marlins have been trying to get a new stadium built in South Florida. There has been plenty of opposition. Here a column that basically asks is the opposition is justified.

He makes some very compelling points.

Here's some comments on the Twins stadium issue.

Interesting points in both. I didn't realize the state of Florida had such a surplus. That's just bad government or there is some politics in there. As for the Twins, they should be able to get a stadium. The Gophers are asking for one on campus, and are a lock to get it, and Wilf is putting up a $billion of his own money for a new stadium.

Never too late for contraction.

The CBA is up after this season, so it is a possibility.

I'm still amazed that a team that won TWO World Series in its first 11 years of existence has such little support from not only the local and state governments, but the fans as well. I'm not sure if San Antonio would be a good long-term fit, but Miami sure as hell isn't.

After I saw Bidwell (Worst owner in NFL)get his stadium in Arz all this is making me :puke
