Yes, because it only started that the top 8 in each conference came out in 1994, IIRC.

I am uber-pissed right now. I just found out that worthless station, OLN, is running the first two games of the finals. Whoever in the NHL heirarchy is responsible for this should be strung up. This means that I cannot see the Canes first two home games; I will be following them on the game threads on the canes message board and listening via radio (on the internet).

OLN, in theory, should have been a good agreement... but OLN's rights are not available on most of Comcast's competitors without them paying a huge premium.

 

It's my understanding that when OLN revamps to its new name and form, that it could be available on more lineups in the fall.

What a f***ing game. This is absolutely incredible hockey - the best game I've seen in a long, long time - and that's saying something.

Uh oh... Roloson injured. If he's gone for any length of time, EDM's done.

Carolina with an amazing comeback to win game 1 by a 5-4 score. And Roloson is done for the rest of the series. Hasta la Vista Edmonton.

Canes fans are just as down as the Oilers' fans about the loss of Roli. We are all hoping it isn't as bad as they apparently think it is.

It might not be that bad, but it's bad enough to keep him out of the rest of the series, it seems like.

Cam gets the shutout with a 5-0 victory. I guess the officiating was a bit screwy, but screwy both ways so there was at least the consistancy there that we (Canes fans) have been asking to get.

Yesterday's game really "hurt." First finals game I get to see and they lose. As badly as they played and as questionable as McGoo was, the Oil only managed 1 more goal, so I guess if I had to take a positive from the game, it would be that.

 

I do not know if NBC had the crowd sound turned down, but the Rexall Place was nowhere near as loud as I expected.

Crowd noise on t.v. rarely accurate depicts how loud the place actually is, so that could have been the issue. As for your Canes, they will be fine......the Oilers got the whole boost going home thing, your boys didn't play very well, and it still took a flukey goal very late for Edmonton to win.

I am not sure my heart is working properly after the last 2 minutes of that game. It was beating so fast that I could barely breathe and I definitely couldn't speak. I think Brian actually realized how much I live and die with my teams tonight. He was leaving for work after the Canes won and I was still shaking and my voice quivered.

I do not know what to think after last night. I am just starting to be un-bummed. Brian thinks they were pushing too hard and that the clinching game is the toughest. I know Stillman is going to come out with guns blazing in Edmonton, but I do not know about the rest of the team. I really hope tahe Edmonton has blown their load, so to speak. I also hope Doug is okay. I am getting sick of the cheap shots by the Oilers - it's one thing to be hard hitting, but they have been bringing it to a whole 'nother level.

Your still fine. Even if it goes 7, the one thing that is true in all sports is the hardest thing to do is win a game 7 on the road. And plus, your just a better team than the Oilers. I think you'll win game 6 though, good luck!!

Between the Canes not showing up and refs calling the Canes if they so much as cross their f***ing eyes at one fo the b**** oilers and not calling the oilers on a damned thing, they might as well had the f***ing cup to the oilers. This just absolutely sucks ass.

I still think Carolina will win in 7 now. The calls won't go Edmonton's way in game 7 on the road. It just won't happen.

The way the canes have played the last three games (in spite of winning one of them to go up 3-1), it doesn't matter what the calls are in game 7. Unless they pull their heads out of their asses, they are on the fast road to infamy.

Carolina is intimidated. Where are the adjustments from the coaching staff?

There is only so much the coaches can do at this point. I really thought having Erik Cole out there would have completely fired the team up. I do think Ward needs to be pulled and have Gerbs in for game 7 though.
