Ouch. I just checked--that's what it was. Hopefully he'll bounce back.

Birmingham starter Neal Cotts opened the game in search of his eighth win in 10 decisions. But Cotts didn't stay around long.

 

The left-hander struggled with control, throwing 49 pitches in just two innings. He departed before the beginning of the third as a precaution due to soreness in his throwing shoulder.
