May 27, 200619 yr I believe that he just wasn't trying to embarass the guy and when it finally came to a point where it would cost them the game...then he knew it was a choice he had to then make.

Lecroy was the 3rd catcher if you make the move any earlier and then Fick gets hurt they are done. It is a bad situation to starting your 3rd string catcher.
