April 10: Sox 5, Tigers 3 -- Jim Thome and Joe Crede each hit two-run home runs, and Paul Konerko added a solo shot to ruin the Tigers' home opener. It was the Sox' first game at Comerica Park since clinching the American League Central title in September.

April 12: Sox 4, Tigers 3 -- Thome homered again, and Jose Contreras allowed one run and six hits in eight innings for the victory. Chris Shelton hit a two-run homer against closer Bobby Jenks in the ninth, giving him a major-league-leading six homers.

April 13: Sox 13, Tigers 9 -- Thome homered again as the Sox opened a 9-1 lead by the fourth inning. Hard-throwing Justin Verlander yielded seven runs and seven hits in 2-2/3 innings. The game set Comerica Park records for hits (38) and extra-base hits (15).

Thome hit some insane-looking homers that series.

As far as I'm concerned, the Tigers are for real until proven otherwise. All last year, people were saying the same things about us that a lot of posters here are saying about the Tigers now.

That said, I'm really looking forward to playing them head-to-head again. I think that's going to answer a lot of questions.
