October 18, 2005 – The Chicago Bulls today announced they have entered into a four-year radio broadcast agreement with WCKG-FM (105.9). Beginning with the 2006.07 season, all 82 regular season games, all playoff games and three pre-season games will be aired on the Infinity Broadcasting owned station.

In conjunction with the move, the Bulls also announced they will be bringing all radio production and sales efforts “in-house.” All aspects relating to the production of game broadcasts and the sale of advertising inventory for those broadcasts will be controlled by the team.

“We are very pleased to join a growing trend among sports franchises in moving our games to the FM side of the dial, and in particular to become a part of the great WCKG brand,” said Bulls Executive Vice President of Business Operations Steve Schanwald. “WCKG has presented some of radio’s most legendary figures to its listening audience over the years and we are excited about the opportunity to broaden our appeal and reach those audiences."

“The Chicago Bulls are in a class all their own in the NBA,” said WCKG Vice President and General Manager Terry Hardin, “and joining forces with WCKG signals a new partnership that will completely re-invent a new way to reach the best basketball fans in the world.”

The new agreement positions WCKG-FM as the flagship station for the Bulls’ Radio Network through the 2009.10 season. All 2005.06 games will be aired on ESPN Radio 1000 in accordance with the agreement that expires at the conclusion of the current season.

Infinity Broadcasting is one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States, operating 178 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation’s top 50 markets. Infinity owns and operates WBBM-AM, WBBM-FM, WCKG, WJMK, WSCR-AM, WUSN and WXRT in Chicago.
