Jim Rome renews contract with Clear Channel subsidiary

Jim Rome has renewed his contract with Premiere Radio Networks Inc., the radio syndication company that originally signed him in 1996.

Rome, who hosts one of the most listened-to sports-talk radio shows in America, will continue to be heard on more than 200 radio stations, including in nine of the top 10 U.S. markets. In San Antonio, Rome's show can be heard on Ticket 760.

The Jim Rome Show also will still be available to radio stations as a stand-alone sports-talk property.

Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Premiere Radio Networks is a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications Inc. (NYSE: CCU), which is headquartered in San Antonio. The network syndicates 70 radio programs and services to more than 5,000 radio affiliatiates that reach more than 190 million listeners weekly.

Not a fan of The Jungle? I didn't like Rome at first (took a while to get used to the pauses), but he grew on me. His TV show sucks, though.
