I'm a big Buehrle fan but this is obnoxious

I think all of this is just silly. We as fans should realize more than anyone else what being a fan is all about. MB is a Cardinal Fan... get over it. He works/plays for the White Sox, and will do so until the White Sox don't want him anymore.

In a very similar situation, my brother holds a pretty good position with a National League Ball Club. They sign his paychecks, but they still aren't his favorite team.

Why?

Because, he was one of the guys who came out and flat out said the team had a hungover from last year and he probably didn't work as hard as he normally would've or should've. At least he implied it pretty strongly. He needs to get on a workout regime.

My take on MB's comments [and PK's for that matter, as he said similar things] were that he and other Sox players did the same things they had done in previous offseasons. Maybe they rested more to ease the strain of the long 05 season. Yet now they need to get in better shape as they get older. Esp. in the offseason to prepare for the reg. season.

The only guy who was mentioned as "out of shape" was Uribe. But just being in shape wasn't enough, coming off the long '05 season. That's my take on what MB and PK meant.

As I stated earlier, I don't have a problem with Buerhle cheering for the team he has loved all his life. I don't think it was necessary for him to wear a Cardinals hat, even though nothing is technically wrong with it. He's fully aware of the firestorm all these little Cardinals stories have had over the past few years. He has to know getting photographed with the hat on is just going to start those up again. I'm sure his agent is sick of damage control, and I'm sure KW and the White Sox organization are a little more upset with this than tarp sliding. While it may not be true, all these little things give the impression Buerhle would rather be somewhere else.

um lets see. i believe he still lives in St. Charles, MO. a whole 20 minute drive to Busch Stadium. I am sure he didn't have anytime that whole day to work out, not one extra bit.
