I need to put together a low cost PA system for my Sea base this summer. I need to have speakers in three different locations spread out over an acre or so. One set of speakers will be inside, one outside, and one outside, but under cover. To save cost, I'm thinking portability and going with one set of speakers. I do not have to do any mixing or anything fancy. Just the ability to play MP3s and run a microphony.

 

This isn't worked into my camp budget, so I'm trying to stay as close to zero as I can. Perhaps using a laptop and some amplified speakers I have laying around?? My portable sound knowledge is from the 1980's when I worked as a wedding DJ. I guess Technic 1200s aren't of much use anymore
