They've been talking about that for years. Not sure of any date though. I'm still waiting for the History Channel to be in HD and then I'd be set.

I'm hoping F/X will switch over in time for the next Shield and Nip/Tuck seasons.

The goal DirecTV has published is to have 100 HD channels by the end of 2007. The History Channel is on that list. They also have a goal of 150 HD channels by the end of 08, I believe. The key satellite for the 100 project is supposed to launch in June, but after an explosion of a Dutch satellite in late January they may have some additional delays.

You are correct. When I moved I decided to get the HD package at my new place which involved getting a much larger dish.

I actually just made the switch from Comcast to DirecTV. DirecTVs HD is much clearer and I am much more happy with the overall service of DirecTV.

 

Should be interesting to see what new channels will be in HD.
