I read this bit on another board and I thought I heard someone on a sports radio channel discussing it over the weekend. True or false?

I'm pretty sure I read in the paper that they put him on the DL.

I believe he's in minor league camp located in Mesa, Arizona. He's on the 7-day disabled list due to "shoulder stiffness" and if he doesn't feel able to pitch after that stint, will return to the 7-day DL.

Thanks for the clarification guys!

yeah, i heard on the radio they didn't want him pitching in the cold weather, even though they swear there's no physical problems

I'm not sure on this, but a Cubs fan friend told me one benefit of keeping Prior in the minors all year as opposed to the big club DL, is that the Cubs extend ownership of him for another season. Prior's scheduled to become a FA after the 2008 season, but if he rehabs in the minors all year, he won't become a FA until 2009.

Either way, it's comical the Cubs are paying him almost $4 million this season.
