May 5, 200718 yr I just couldn't help myself...what is the love affair with Sweeney in this forum? To me he has ALWAYS looked like a left handed version of Brian Anderson. For now, I am going to refer to him as Brian Sweeney until he proves me wrong...
May 5, 200718 yr ...even for me, that's going to far. This kid has had a near-picture-perfect swing since he entered the system and has had under 50 big-league at-bats. Methinks this is far too small of a sample size to be making any comparisons to anyone--let alone Brian Anderson. Edited May 5, 200718 yr by AddisonStSox

Incidently, would John Cangelosi consider a comeback as our standing LF?
May 5, 200718 yr Sweeney didn't look good flailing away on some of Escobar's picthes, but I only saw the game last night from the 5th inning on. But, that was too much to take also. I think we just want to get this slump over with so bad that anyone and everyone looks bad. The kid has a good future, but I think Brian Anderson does too. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later. May 6, 200718 yr I agree that he looked absolutely terrible against Escobar-- especially the last AB that he had. But I'll wait to make judgments until he's gotten at least a little bit comfortable on the roster.
May 6, 200718 yr QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 5, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) Sweeney kind of reminded me of Mackowiak at the plate. How he is hitting so far, yeah. But overall, they don't match at all. Also, Sweeney is a much different player then Anderson as well.
