So far at AA Birmingham...meh.

 

4 games, all started by Nevin.

1-1 record, 6.23 ERA

17.1 IP, 15 hits allowed, 12 runs all earned, 14 walks, 13 Ks.

 

Well, he was shelled in his first game with a 21.00+ ERA.

What's troubling so far is the hits/bb per game compared to innings pitched. That tells me the command isn't there yet. The strikeouts per 9 are respectable. Other than this, too early to tell what he'll do this year, hopefully stays healthy. Only 22 still.

May was not good. 5 games, 1-1, 8.51 ERA, 24.1 IP, 20 hits allowed, 18 walks, 22 strikeouts. His last start was his bright spot in which he went 8 IPs, 5 hits allowed, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, 2 runs allowed, both earned.

June has been so - so for Nevin.

Don't know how old this is but this is a GIF of Nevin's pitching mechanics...this was probably during his high school days. Kind of Daniel Hudson-esque the way his arm sweeps across his body.

 

 

Nevin is at Birmingham, as a reliever.

Birmingham's roster also will feature relievers such as Nevin Griffith, Dan Remenowsky and Ryan Kussmaul, as well as position players such as Mitchell, Andy Wilkins and Jose Martinez.

It's arguably his best start-of-the-year stats.

His BB/K ratio is still alarming.

Well, the month of May can't end fast enough for Nevin. In 14.2 IP, he has 17 WALKS, 8Ks.

10 R/10 ER (OK)

22 WALKS. (NOT GOOD)

14 Ks.

3.60 ERA

 

 

It's too bad. Injuries are taking a toll on him regarding location.

 

Well......the good news is that he's just 23.....WELP.
