Maroth to Cards

Featured Replies

They were a longshot in any Buehrle trade, so not much changes in terms of trading partners. But it will be interesting to see who Detroit got back.

well when we find out what they get...

This really has almost no bearing on the Buerhle situation. I doubt the Cards gave up anything more than a 'B' prospect.

This trade most-definitely won't have any Buehrle ramifications.

Maroth couldn't suck the sweat out of Mark's jock strap.

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has traded lefthanded pitcher Mike Maroth to the St. Louis Cardinals for a player to be named later on or before September 15, 2007.

Maroth started 13 games for the Tigers in 2007, compiling a 5-2 record and 5.06 ERA (78.1IP/44ER).

Acquired by Detroit in a two-player deal with the Boston Red Sox on July 31, 1999, Maroth posted a 50-62 record and 4.81 ERA (880.0IP/470ER) in 147 games (143 starts) during his career with the Tigers.

Additionally, prior to tonight's game in Atlanta, the Tigers have reinstated lefthanded pitcher Kenny Rogers from the 60-day disabled list.
