On Aug. 17 in Seattle, Danny Richar became the first Sox player in 13 years to hit a grand slam for his first big league home run. Prior to Richar, the last Sox player to accomplish this feat was Norberto "Paco" Martin on June 4, 1994. The Sox Kevin Bell also hit a grand slam for his first big league homer on June 22, 1976.
