November 8, 200718 yr http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cu...bnews07.article Boy would that have pissed the Cub fans off.
November 9, 200718 yr WOW, that article has two bombshells. It's a damn shame he saved Wrigley though, the Cubs would be drawing 25 thousand a game in a mediocre 1980's built ballpark in Mount Prospect or something if it wasn't for that. Edited November 9, 200718 yr by whitesoxfan101
November 9, 200718 yr Yea Mt. Prospect isn't far from me. I would've perhaps grown up a Cub fan if it was there....That thought makes me very sick.
November 9, 200718 yr I'm not doubting Uberroth's honesty or memory, but what a logistical nightmare that would have been. The Cubs - Padres Game Five ended in San Diego at about 6pm central time. If the Cubs had won, they would have hosted Game One of the World Series at about 7:15 on Tuesday. 49 hours to get every fan with a ticket for the game a new one plus sell about 15-20 thousand more? Let's say I'm highly skeptical.
