He has a pretty impressive resume and was recently runner up for the AD job at Miami. The senior associate AD from UCLA finished in the runner up spot for our job, so I guess the candidates were pretty impressive. Compher has spent the last few years at Washington and has been in a few other places before that (most noteably, he did some great things as the AD at Western Carolina). Overall, it looks like a good hire on paper, and hopefully he can fill the large shoes left by Jim Phillips.
