How old is this guy? I forsee nothing for his future, IMO. JW if he could become that number 5 starter after that dismal game last year against Seattle.

I believe he is 24 or 25

I believe he is 24 or 25

He's 24 and he could be the best pitcher in the White Sox system.

his numbers in Charlotte are decent.

4-1 4.26 ERA......

The thing that alot of people dismiss is the park he pitches in... very hitter friendly, maybe that explains why he's given up 12 dingers and his era is a tad over 4.

He's got fewer hits than innings pitched, and has a K:BB ratio of near 3 to 1.

so he's got a future.....maybe even in basketball.... cause he is 6-11.

 basketball.

Yeah but that was IMO. I didn't know how he was doing at AAA Charlotte because I was too lazy to look it up.

So what does that say about Borchard's hitting??

Well Sexy Rexy....I didnt want to ruin everyone's day...... but it says that Joe Borchard's 5HR's and .218 BA are even a little worse than they appear.

Then how did he almost hit 20 dongs at the Met in AA?

Oh yeah....

Rauch projects as a 3-5 starter now. Prior to his shoulder injury, he was a surefire 1. Reports have been he's lost some speed on his fastball, and his curveball is slower and not biting as much.

Wouldn't it be cool if Jon Rauch and that Seatle prospect Ryan Anderson competed in a slam dunk contest...maybe not, but it seemed cool when I first thought of it

The good news is Rauch is bringing back his slider and it won't take too long until he has that harnessed.

For those of you that don't know it, his slider was rated right there with his curveball according to many scouts and from what I saw of him, I really liked his curveball.

If he can have two different offspeed type pitches (Curve/Change) and his slider and fastball working then he'll be a whole new pitcher. I won't give up on Rauch. He has pretty solid control and I liked what I saw from him last year. I can only hope he gains about 2-3 MPH on his fastball cause right now he's in the high 80's.

I think a few more MPH would be a great benefit for him as it would give all of his pitches good pace, plus he could vary the heater between those points which is always nice.

I never heard the specifics of his current injury. Is it related to his previous injury?

Shoulder soreness. Its thought to be precautionary. I usually say it takes two years to recover from an arm injury, which would mean next year is when Rauch will be back in full form.

I'd actually say he's done pretty well coming back, considering that to me a labrum injury is worse then Tommy John.

Lokk at Sirotka for evidence there.
