I believe in having a lot of fun ith wth Sox/Cubs rivalry and trash talk, but not into the vulgar and obnoxious stuff that goes around. My uncle and I have had a 25 year "friendly" war in trashing each others team through the mail. We are at the point as of who can be more clever in captioning newspaper articles, or in packages that are sent to one another. Here are the top 2 from us. Do you have any that you have haggled back and forth with anyone? I'm looking for some more clever ideas and to get a few chuckles from other Soxtalkers ideas as well.

A couple of years ago for my birthday I received a candle in the mail with a Sox emblem on it. The letter said..."Tom, in honor of your team being rebuilt, here is a candle to repesent them. As you watch each game, light the candle in honor of them. As you watch the candle burn down and burn out by the end of the year, you can watch your team do the same.

Needless to say, my uncles birthday was right around the corner. I sent him in return a 1964 Topps Cubs Lou Brock baseball card to commemorate that beautiful trade they made made for Ernie Brogglio. Along with the card, I did some digging, and found something on e-bay that put a much deserved delight into his life. In 1969 The Cubs had an allstar infield, great pitching staff, and were in first place that year from day one until September 15....and then BLEW IT!

What I sent was an infamous VHS copy of the 1969 New York Mets video highlights.

Haha the video is a great idea. Hopefully it was unlabeled. I could just see you're uncle sitting down on the couch after a long day at work, popping the tape in and being bombarded with low quality footage with funny music and an old narrator.
