July 9, 200322 yr It seems like so long ago that we swept the Twins, dominating them in games one and two, and then giving up and early lead in game 3, only to get it back, lose it, and then gain it and win the game, in dramatic fashion. Since that time, we have gone 1-3 against last place teams. If we could carry anything out onto the field, we would be 3-1 in those games, not 1-3, and we could easily be 4-0. This team just makes you sick sometimes.
July 9, 200322 yr I am convinced that there is no such thing as an easy part of the schedule with this team. The Sox simply refuse to take control of this division. I understand that TB, Detroit and Cleveland are all major league teams and that any team can beat any other given team on any particular night, but so far in the "easy" part of our schedule we are 1-3. I'm sorry, but winning these series right now is not enough, we need sweeps. I consider these next 2 games against Detroit as "must wins". Teams that are supposedly battling for a division do NOT lose a series to the Detroit F'n Tigers.
July 9, 200322 yr Now to me this is where the manager gets called to the matt. how come we kick ass against the good teams and play like s*** against the crappy teams. Motivation is the job of the field manager.
