sox r extremely lucky

the sox have played so pathetically the pst 2 series against the 2 worst teams in baseball and are still 1 back of the twins an 5.5 bak of kc if they were in another division they'd be at least 10 out. they should take advantage of the situation and play well against cleveland

Good assessment. Unfortunately rarely do the sox do what they SHOULD do: like beat teams that they SHOULD beat. Sox like to do things the hard way and get their wins against tougher teams. If the Sox played hard against these cellar dwellers and didn't show up against teams like Boston, Toronto, Yankees etc. we could have a much easier time winning this division.

There's a lot of "celler dweller" types in the AL West.

It's not really luck it's just the benefit of a weak division. Thank the lord!

not true

If we were in the NL central, we'd be fewer games out of 1st than we are now.

The myth is we are the worst division - reality is the Nl central has the leader with the lowest %

I still think our division is pathetic. The NL Central is more competetive, which may account for the lower win percentage.

The AL and NL Central Divisions are only separated by a game or two. Both are pathetic.

As CK notes, the divisions are only separated by a game or two. If they are competitive with a 3 team joust for first, so are we. If we are pathetic, so are they.

You could figure out that our division is pathetic just by noting the fact that KC is on top of it, a year after they lost 100 games. You then look and see Detroit, a team that has won 25 games all year, at the bottom.

You know the NL Central is a pathetic division simply because the Cubs are near the top. :D
