Former Blackhawk Pit Martin dies in snowmobile accident

Featured Replies

former hockey player Hubert Pit Martin is reported missing according to what RDS.ca has learned. Around 11 a.m. Sunday morning, M.Martin followed another motoneigist (snowmobile) on the lake Kanasuta when the ice yielded between the two before disappearing under the ice. Pit Martin played 1101 matches in the National league with Detroit Red Wings , Bruins of Boston, Blackhawks of Chicago as well as Canucks of Vancouver. He piled up 809 points.

Terrible news!

I hope they find Pit.

One of my early favorites when I first started watching the Hawks.

:pray for good ol' #7.

He was a fun to watch. I never knew they traded Phil Esposito to get him. WoW. Anyway I hope the Hawks honor him on Wendsday. RIP Pit !!

Here's the story of Pit's untimely death:

I definitely hope they have a nice tribute to Pit tomorrow night - I'm sure they will, it's just too bad that Steve Larmer's heritage night will have this note of sadness to it.
