PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Arizona Fall League announces its 2008 Top Prospects Team. Selected by Fall League managers, coaches, and administrators, the Top Prospects Team identifies the players who distinguished themselves throughout the league's seven-week 2008 schedule against other top prospects from every organization in Major League Baseball. Voters were asked to consider Fall League performance and Major League projectability.

 

Gordon Beckham (CWS) -- Peoria Saguaros

Hit .394 to rank sixth (t-Rhyne Hughes) in the league ... posted the league's top single-game offensive performance with a five-for-five day that included seven RBIs ... he scored after all five hits, making him responsible for 12 runs.

 

Tyler Flowers (CWS) -- Mesa Solar Sox

Fall League home-run leader (12) ... also led the league in slugging percentage (.973) and OPS (1.433) ... hit .387 to rank eighth ... week three Player-of-the Week ... three-homer, seven-RBI game ... 73 total bases ranked third.

Baseball America announced its top 20 prospects from AFL.
