SoxFan1
Hey Cubkilla, its about 10 minutes or so after the game has ended. JM is still manager...what ya gonna do?
aboz56
I remember when my Dad called me to tell me about that trade. He said to me, you're not gonna like this and I remember saying why? He said, they traded your boy and I remember thinking Buehrle first. Then when he told me Foulke, I was nearly as pissed as I would have been had they traded Buehrle. I knew the move was bad when it happened and I was exactly right.
Chisoxfn
what ya gonna do? When they come for you bad boys bad boys.... Like I said in a post a few minutes ago. Foulke is definately better then Koch. Koch is pretty good when he's throwing his 98 MPH fastball, but until that comes back, he's mediocre. Right now the only thing I can hope for is for Cotts to come through and develop in a big way. I'm also hoping Koch regains his form of last season. I still want to know why exactly Foulke wasn't closing late last year.

Exactly what it says in my sig. f*** JR and this sham of a baseball Organization. Ain't getting no more of my money. Somewhere there's a stripper paying her way through college that needs my green more than JR and his joke for a MLB franchise. SI1020
I bent over backwards to give KW the benefit of the doubt on this trade. At this point I think it is worse than the Ritchie deal.. I'll say it again. If there's been a GM worse than KW I can remember who that might have been.
SweetJfour
I can't say I didn't have my doubts about the Foulke for Koch trade, but let's not forget how Foulke was pitching last year when we were all calling for his head. Koch wasn't the best trade in the world obviously, but let's not all pretend we were riding the Keith Foulke bandwagon last year!!!

Why is it when other closers blow a game or go through a bad spell they are given a chance to redeem themselves? Foulke was not given that chance. Foulke has been one of the most dependable closers in MLB the past 3-4 seasons. Koch, OTOH is pitching with Ritchie like efficiency. Unless Koch can suddenly find his lost velocity this may turn out to be KW's worst trade ever and that's really saying something.

Also, alot of the posters on this board that were screaming for Foulke's head earlier last season (I wasn't one of them..... I only questioned JM's use of KF in the non-closer role..... shocker there ), were wondering why he wasn't given the opportunity to close again in the 2nd half of '02 given his 2nd half dominance (ERA under 1.00). But remember all, Cotts and his 87 mph fastball is going to save this trade
Rex Hudler
Unless Koch can suddenly find his lost velocity this may turn out to be KW's worst trade ever and that's really saying something. Or it could turn out to be one of his best if Neal Cotts makes it big. Granted, that is kinda like sneaking in the back door, but in the long run, its possible. Koch wasn't the best trade in the world obviously, but let's not all pretend we were riding the Keith Foulke bandwagon last year!!! Thank you. I believe that part of the reason KW got rid of Foulke was because he wanted to make us happy. We were screaming for him to be cut, sent down, traded, DL, anything, just don't let him close anymore! I just hope everyone remembers how they're screaming for Konerko's head much the same way this year when he comes back and has a good year with some other team next year. SweetJfour
It would appear to me, that Billy Koch is getting much of the same treatment. I would be astonished if he got a chance to close a game the rest of this year if the score is less than four runs. In which case, JM may have given Koch more opportunities to get his problems together than Foulke, but neither did or will be the closer for the White Sox in the second half. Loaiza21
I wonder if Williams was going after Cotts and not Koch?
Cerbaho-WG
Koch's arm is dead. If I'm KW, you might as well just shut him down for the rest of the season and let his arm come back to life. Once he hits 100 MPH, I'd take him over Foulke. But of course, I'd take Marte over both of 'em.
