Chief Justice John Roberts

Any thoughts on the court under his leadership so far? Hasn't been a whole lot of talk about the Supreme Court in a while. While I may not agree with his views, I think he was a qualified choice and had no major issues with his appointment.

Discuss, peons......discuss.

He was the Bush nomination I was OK with. Eminently qualified, and while he wasn't maybe my ideal match ideologically, at least he has an interperetation level of the Constitution that is fairly consistent.

The other guy Bush nominated, however...

Roberts has been far more political than initially thought. He signed onto a dissent arguing for greater Federal authority to overrule the wishes of a states' voters in siding with Alberto Gonzales in '06. He has been a solid conservative politically, but not a judicial conservative.
