November 27, 200223 yr He's going to take over as first base coach of the New York Mets. Another former member of the Chicago Baseball scene Don Baylor will also be joining the Mets staff as bench coach.

I really respect Don and think he's a great baseball man to have around. Heck, he was still classy even after being canned from the Cubs as he recommended the Cubs position to Dusty Baker and said the organization was very good. I know one thing, I'd love having a guy with the character and baseball knowledge like Dusty Baker on our bench. Of course I'd love him as hitting coach.
