June 6, 200916 yr I was watching the White Sox vs. Angels ALCS Game 5 on the MLB Network, and on the ticker there was a quote from Carlos Zambrano. Something to the degree of "I want to retire when my contract is up in 2012 so I can watch my girls grow up." Do you actually believe him???
June 6, 200916 yr Maybe. Buehrle seems to be in the same boat where he is struggling to decide whether he should keep playing, or retire to be with his family after 2011. It's a tough decision, but I bet neither retire after their contracts are up.
June 6, 200916 yr By then who knows how many surgeries Zambrano will have gone through. He could easily be where Freddie Garcia is now, based on his fastball's trajectory the last few years.
June 6, 200916 yr well now with him saying it that makes Zambrano, MB and Oswalt 3 big name pitchers who have said a similar thing... we'll see when the time comes and if they're still pitching well because the contracts will be great
