Rahl would come around to score later in the inning on the aid of another Barons error, but Ely kept the no-hitter in tact until Pedro Ciriaco broke up the bid with a single in the sixth inning. Ely earned his fourth-consecutive win in the start, improving his mark to 8-1. A Southern League All Star selection, he is now second in the league in wins, fourth in strikeouts (83) and eighth in ERA (3.31).
July 23, 200916 yr Ely has very quietly been having a very good year. IIRC, he had a really solid first half last year but struggled in the second half.
