Here is as much information I can find on the source of the YNOT game.  I hope it sheds some light on the mystery:

Interesting stuff. Which to me begs the question, if it isn't an acronym that describes the game, should we rename it something that reflects this board?

Renaming is always a possibility. Any ideas?

We could rename it after the contest where people pick a white sox to hit for the cycle and people keep picking Paul Konerko and Frank Thomas for some god awful reason, the Pick and Predict.
