Props to MGMT for getting their trades early!

Hey!

I don't know who's pulling the strings upstairs, but they did a fine job identifying what they want\need and then pulling the trigger, getting done well before the fistfighting started near the deadline. Prices definately escalated.

I'm guessing Sox mgmt will get another arm or two, if needed, through waivers but saw the crowd standing in line and heard the asking price for Ponson etc and decided to go that route.

Look at it this way: We made some trades earlier and that helped the team confidence--which translated into a 11-1 run after the all-star break.

Be happy! They're winning games and taking names.

a deadline trade would've been nice, but as you said, they were active earlier and the asking price for some guys were crazy.

I'm OK with standing pat.

I could not have said it better. Great post. :headbang

You nailed it, man....we got our guys before all the price wars started, and I'm happy with what we have (sans Rick Roleplayer White)....we can find someone to give us 5-6 innings as a $5 starter within the org., lets keep the rest of our talent

Great post forkit. We didnt wait until the last minute when the asking price was skyrocketing. Props to management. :cheers

I agree 100%

The way the trades that happened went down I'm surprized more teams weren't selling.

Hey, they didn't exactly give as Alomar and Everett. They got some pretty good kids from us. But the fact that KW did it early did help jumpstart this team.
