Rex Hudler
I may be late on this, but Selig stepped in and nixed the Aaron Boone trade to the Yankees as it was originally structured. They originally were sending Brandon Claussen and $3.5 million in cash for Aaron Boone and Gabe White. Selig made them add prospects and lower than cash total. Apparently there is a $1 million cap on cash that can exchange hands in a trade. The new deal is Boone for Claussen, another prospect and $1 million in cash. Then White was traded in a second deal for a player or two to be named later and $400,000 in cash. Apparently the teams were none to happy. to Bud for having some balls! SuperSteve
I am glad Bud Selig stepped in. It takes away from the game if some teams are able to buy players, how the Yankees tried to get Boone.
Jim Fainter
Does this mean that Georgey Porgey Steinbrenner will fire Bud Lite Selig?
YASNY
Bud Selig showing some brass balls? The end of the world must be upon us!
elrockinMT
Amazing isn't it? I also read the trade breakdown and how the Yankees trade their best pitching prospect to the Reds and it mentions the fact the Yanks system hasn't produced a big league arm for years. Once again it's money that buys a championship in NY and I am predicting the Yanks fall from power soon.
