Pretty nice to hear that they're chomping at the bit to get the season going already, the enthusiasm.

 

And while it's far too early to get hopes up, I like that attitude.

 

There also seems to be a newfound expectation to win (based on other comments in other articles). Granted, KW says that every year but this year everybody on the team seem pretty serious about winning the Central at the very least.

 

I also love the fact that this group of guys goes down there on their own dime to put in the extra work.

It seems that it is a foregone conclusion that Morel is your 3B this year. So what do you do with Tank? I think he needs to move to LF and prepare to take over for Pierre after this year. Clearly not going to play 1B or DH. Seems too weak defensively to be at 3B, but that bat is valuable.

I'd throw him in RF and shop Quentin.

I agree. Quentin had that one good year but he's the one guy I wouldn't be sorry to see go at this point.

Clearly there's good reason to keep Quentin and try him for one more year. Even if he's bad, he's not going to be so bad that you can't win with him, even considering his defense. Quentin bad, we've seen, and he still hits 25 HR.

 

Next year though, Quentin will be in his 2nd arbitration-eligible year, and depending on how things look in the minors and in FA, he becomes a DFA candidate if he puts up a 2011 that looks like 2009/2010.
