Addison Reed - September Call up?

Featured Replies

What are your thoughts about not only Addison being a future closer or set up man but does he have starter stuff? I know he has electric K/9 ratio but what are his mechanics like and does he have the endurance to go a full season as a starter? We now have 2 high draft choices with Bullpen attached to them (Sale already there).

He doesn't have much of a third pitch, and by this point it's apparent the Sox don't think he would be an effective starter. He has the chance to be a very good high leverage relief pitcher though. He's certainly a candidate to be called up at anytime really. I'd have no qualms if he replaced Bruney. I also wouldn't mind if he's allowed to hone his craft the rest of the year in the minors.

DS, actually which 3rd pitch are you referring too. 2 scouting reports I read seem to indicate he has 3 plus pitches, FB, Slider, and Change.

no need to summon him into this pile of dog manure.

let him have more success at Charlotte and don't let him log too many innings.

plenty of time for him to contribute.
