Guys, I want to get the wife a forerunner, as she's obsessed with working out. Any recommendation on models? There's a bunch, and it's hard to tell which are worth it. I'm happy to spend up to $300.

Suunto makes some products for that as well that are quite good, but also pricey. Might want to check those out too.

I really wish my wife had gone with the Android like I told her to vs a Blackberry. I downloaded an app for my Evo called iMapMyRun, which does everything a Forerunner can do (save heart rate).

It's nice to go out on a run and know exactly how far you are going.

Thanks, man. I wound up going with the Suunto M5 and the foot pod. This will be perfect and much more suitable for her workout schedule (gym rat every morning, runs on weekends).

Please report back on how she likes it.

I'm gizzing over this, but at $349 its really pricey:

I actually switched it up one last time and went with the Polar RS300x, and it's doing the trick.
