2002 World Series shares announced

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SportsTicker

NEW YORK (Ticker) - A full World Series share for the champion Anaheim Angels was $272,147.47, Major League Baseball announced on Monday.

The Angels beat the San Francisco Giants, 4-3 in the 2002 World Series for their first championship in franchise history. Anaheim awarded 42 full shares, 14 partial shares and eight cash awards.

A full share for the Giants was worth $186,185.62. They awarded 40 full shares, 15 partial shares and 14 cash awards.

The players' pool, formed from 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first three games of the division series and 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games of the league championship series and World Series, was divided among 12 clubs: the eight playoff teams and the second-place finishers in each of the four divisions that were not wild card participants.

The Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals each lost in the league championship series, but their full shares were quite different. For the Twins, it was worth $97,190.76 because they awarded 42 full shares and just two partial shares along with 18 cash awards. The Cards' full share was just worth $65,276.19 because they awarded 49 full shares, a whopping 68 partial shares and 15 cash awards.

Holy s***!

Now if we ever get to the World Series...........

My god, thats millions, or am I doing the math wrong.

From what that shows, mutiple 200k or so by 42 shares and wow.

Exactly....now imagine if KW and JR saw that....or atleast JR. Think he might shell out some extra dough?

Oh wait a second....this is JR we are talking about...savior of Frank! We must praise him, no matter what he does!

However, if he tossed in the extra couple mill, that would be damn nice.

just goes to show ya you gotta spend a little to make alot... can you imagine if jr spent a bit of cash and we got a world series winner here.... he would be rolling in so much dough he could wall paper the ball park in it and still have enough left over to keep some awesome players on board......geez when i saw those numbers my eyes lite up like $$$$$........i hope jr is looking on and gets the message here.......spend jerry spend..........youll be happy with the end result.........$$$$$$$$$$$
