The link is slightly out of date, he recorded another victory in a 3-1 win last night. I'm certain someone from a bigger D1 school will win the award, the Western Athletic Conference doesn't, and probably shouldn't, get that must respect. But it's kind of cool to see a guy around campus that is getting noticed nationally. It's been a while. The team was really solid in the 1970s, the best season finishing fourth in the College World Series. A friend of mine played for Michigan State and remembers coming down here in February or March and losing a couple games. They would be sun burned after the first game. They had been playing inside all winter while the south Texas teams have been outside.
