  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) He's batting 3rd??? 4th. Broadway not impressive so far. Bases are loaded with 2 outs. Haven't seen him above 86. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) dropping on the inside corner? Swinging. He's facing a lefty, Bobby Livingston, who was briefly with the Mariners last year. Mound visit for Broadway. Broadway walks in a run.
  2. Lazy grounder from BA to end the first. First pitch swinging. Looks thrilled to be here.
  3. And Pods K's, I believe that nets everyone in the park a free burger.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:01 PM) Alex, nice report. Let us know how PODS looks and especially how BA looks swing-wise Will do, just about to get underway, so I'll get a nice look at Pods right off the bat. He's the White Castle "K-Man".
  5. A couple of quick notes from the pregame: - Talked to Pods briefly. Heard him say he's about 80 percent and he told me his groins are stubborn. He's playing in left field and leading off. - BA has been playing DH recently because his shoulder is bothering him. - Word was that Floyd threw his best game of the year last night. Key to him being successful is throwing strikes. Stuff is not the problem. - Broadway's on the hill tonight. Hope to have some info on his velocity just to see where he is. - Fields left this morning for Chicago and found out he was getting the call last night, thus the reason he did not play here on Tuesday night. I'll have more as the night moves along.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) ... and full-time as a pimp... Exactly.
  7. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) what do u do for a living that u have a press pass? I get press credentials for Soxtalk and FutureSox but I also work part-time at a newspaper.
  8. I'll be at the game tonight and have a press pass, so I'll check in with Pods and see how he's doing. It's crazy how many guys are down there who were with the club at some point this year: Molina, Sisco, Aardsma, MacDougal, Podsednik, Anderson, Sweeney, Gonzalez.
  9. Thomas has not committed to Ohio State: QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) Rumors on Scout's OSU board that DeShuan Thomas, the top rated player in the 2010 class verbally committed to OSU. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?S=145&F=3156&T=575907 I don't know how Matta does it, but the man is pretty much a class act when he does interviews and is a very amiable guy. I wanted Illinois to pair him and Richmond, but I am just happy Sampson didn't get him. I could tell you, but I won't
  10. My guess is we'll have a brief rally only to see it shot down when it looks like we may do something.
  11. It took less than 2 hours for our offense to get owned this time.
  12. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) Just when I think things can't get worse, we lose this game, when we should have scored at least one run, and out leadoff guy goes down with an injury. It'll be getting worse before it gets better.
  13. Here would be my moves: - Trade Crede (call up Fields) - Call up BA for CF and Sweeney for LF (dump Pods) - Trade Iguchi if you can get any value
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) He's says it the terrorists fault the Sox can't hit. Its Al Queda's fault the middle relievers won't throw a strike. The terrorists have won.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) He has had a brutal Erstad mancrush all year despite the reality of the situation, and did something I haven't seen him do in 14 years (and we've had some bad injuries in that time). The Erstad/Hawk relationship has been like nothing I've ever seen between a player and broadcaster. As much as you don't like Erstad, the guy plays the game the right way. I don't see how anyone can not respect and appreciate that.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:36 PM) Hawk just called Anderson a 5 tool player. Anderson and Thomas Collaro will save us. /Hawk Did you even celebrate when we won the series? Just wondering.
  17. If Ersty is out for an extended period, call up BA and Sweeney and end the Terrero/Mac outfield experiment.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) It took Hawk's clubhouse run to make me feel that way, blame him. And no I don't care if anybody finds it pathetic, I find most posts here pathetic too. Like I said, cut it out. That goes for anyone who wishes to make light of a potentially serious injury. None of that has any place here and I will make sure it doesn't happen on my watch.
  19. Sick to see some of you are actually glad Darin got hurt. Pretty classless. I'd say the time to cut that stuff out is immediately.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) He has been almost silent since. I figured he'd be MIA after that. As much as I wasn't a huge advocate of Erstad when we signed him, he did play hard and gave us something out there. Sad to see him go down and it'll be even worse if it means we'll see Terrero in CF on a full-time basis.
  21. So the consensus is that Ersty is done grinding for a while? Is Hawk upset?
  22. With Doc and Mark going, this game has a chance to be the fastest of the year so far.
