Now the Indians are adding Ludwick, too???

    Hmmm.

Thornton/Floyd and/or Danks/Quentin/Ohman....get what you can for them KW.

If they can make good deals, yes. Not just whatever they can get.

I'm still holding out hope the Yankees make an overwhelming offer for Danks.

Give me your Montero. Give me your Betances. Give me your Banuelos.

He hits left handed. Left handed pitcher on the mound. Left handed batters are not allowed to face left handed pitchers. Rules are rules. What do you expect, a manager to use his own judgment?

His .304 average vs lefties in AAA...not good enough. Have a seat, De Aza.

    Chicago White Sox

Williams: Chances of any deal "very unlikely," saying potential deals all would hurt club's chances to win division. #WhiteSox

That's fine. Hope for the best, but I expect the Tigers to win 86-88 games, and the Sox to win 83-85 games. They'll sell the hype of a pennant race and get a few extra tickets sold, get close and come up short.

And then let the Kenny/Ozzie offseason drama commence.

Honestly, there's no reason for Thornton to be on the team 25 1/2 hours from now.

It would be uncomfortable facing him in the playoffs if the Sox somehow find a way to get there. But yeah, he got closer money when they thought he would close, and with 2 years/12 mil due him after this season, I can't blame them for moving that contract now if the return is right.

You don't think they CAN win the division or they WILL? There is a pretty big difference.

It would take Rios and Dunn getting their stuff together and/or the Tigers having injuries.

I really do think the Tigers will maintain their 1st place status. I don't think the Sox will ever pass them in the standings.

  6. Danks?...ok this is getting ridiculous.

Sounds like Kenny is just dipping his toes in the water to see what they can get in the off season. I still doubt the Sox make a major move, even though I don't think they'll ever catch the Tigers....sorry, I don't.

  7. Just for giggles...

The Tigers have 56 games left. They are 31-25 in their last 56. If they match that, they finish 87-75.

The Sox have 58 games left. They are 32-26 in their last 58. If they match that, they finish 84-78.

The Twins have 56 games left. They are 33-23 in their last 56. If they match that, they finish 83-79.

The Indians have 59 games left. They are 23-36 in their last 59. If they match that, they finish 75-87.

I don't know about trading both Floyd and Danks. You can go from a mediocre .500 team to a really really bad team in a hurry if suddenly you give up too much starting pitching.

I realize Sox need to save money and all that, but do the Sox want to be a .400 team next year?

True, but they'll probably re-sign Buehrle, and still have Humber and Peavy. Then Sale and Stewart will be in the mix.

Yeah, now that I'm looking at it, might want to keep Danks as long as possible. It would have to be a huge haul to trade away Danks.
